Thumbs - Types and Applications
Progressive thumb The progressive thumb is used primarily for excavators of 5 tonnes and above, and has a slightly higher clamping force as a result of the progressive linkage. |
| |
Linear (non-link) thumb The linear thumb is used on excavators of less than 5 tonnes. The simpler mechanical design provides a weight advantage which is a significant benefit for small excavators. |
Applications
In combination with the MARTIN Quick Coupler and bucket, the hydraulically operated MARTIN thumb constitutes a perfectly matched additional application. |
| |
In addition to the usual excavating functions, the thumb can also hold any materials that need to be moved.

The result is not only greater efficiency and work safety but also less downtime. Wear-resistant materials ensure maximum service life.
